‘Bee’ by Andy Murkin
All the recordings for this project were made in my garden between the 27th of May and the 8th of June, 2021, inspired by the purchase of a bumble bee nest and hive.
The recordings were mostly made on a Marantz PMD660 with electret microphones and preamp built by Ian Brady. One section of the main track, Garden of Bees, incorporated a Zoom iQ6 microphone recording into a 1st Gen iPhone SE; and one track, Close-up, comprises recordings made on the Marantz PMD660 with my self-built parabolic reflector microphone and preamp.
